Same here. I didn't listen to a word, and I don't care about the commentary. I said to my husband this morning that one day in the foreseeable future the orange monster will be gone, and I'm living like the future is now.

My little question? Why did any of the Dems attend? They know how he is and what he will say that is disrespectful to them and Biden. Attending gives dignity where it is not deserved. Al Green deserves a Nobel peace and freedom medal for standing up to the tyrant.

Good question. My answer:

To paraphrase Teddy Roosevelt, nobody should care what you do until they know who you care about. Republicans care about three things: "me, myself, and I." Dems care about one thing: America. Everything else that anyone does or doesn't do is just the technical details.

I wish a reporter would ask Trump when was the last time he purchased groceries. And I mean actually visit a store, select groceries and pay for them. McDonald’s doesn’t count nor instructing/ordering a subordinate to do it.

Another, “Quiet piggy” moment?

You know, I was thinking about just THAT as I shopped yesterday, my friend.

He is an empty man. He'll die and in the years to come his name will be vilified. Good riddance.

Megan Ross's avatar

I hope he dies today.

Me too 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Yeah me too. But he won’t. Because we WANT it.

What is it Texans are supposed to be fond of saying, "all hat, no cattle." Nancy Pelosi summed it up and Earl, you alluded to it. Just Lazy. A soundbite seeking speech that was just lazy. No real new ideas to make life better. Just his usual boring lazy attacks, heard over and over and over, ad nauseum. I await the polls on the speech, but I believe they will not be good. Same old, same old.

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

Well, there you go, Anthony. Glad I watched a movie instead.

I did not watch one second of TRump's shit show last night. I watched some of The People's State of the Union on the National Mall, with Meidas Touch and moveon.org for a while. I enjoyed watching Governor Spanberger's rebuttle to call out TRump's lies. I simply cannot listen to or watch The Convicted Felon spew lies and misinformation. Nope.

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

Maybe I'll find Spanberger's speech.

She's worth listening to.

Megan Ross's avatar

She hit the nail on the head about our economy and our freedoms being taken away, but I really wish she would have called out his blatant corruption. We need politicians to really hammer on what's really happening behind the curtain. TRump is corrupt to the core, as are the Republicans.

Teri Gelini's avatar

I also can not look at the pedo in charge. It upsets my digestion. And Spanberger's speech was one for the books...OUTSTANDING! Leave it to the women to stand up to Drumpf

Worth while indeed- how corruption - greed is tRumf coat of arms ( a family, bit coin thing). Our foriegn relations are in the basement. He didn't mention China📡.She did🪔

Once someone no longer recognizes the importance of truth, or worse still never valued the importance of truth, all else falls apart. Credibility and trust are lost. That's pretty much where we are right now, caught up in the snowball effect of lies. He may fool himself and those he has brainwashed, but he will never fool the rest of us who know the value of truth.

Susan Rose's avatar

I cannot abide lying. Therefore I cannot abide trump because he is all about lies. Living a life of lies is like living in a house of cards. Eventually it will crumble and you will go down with it. He's definitely going down!

I watched the first few minutes because I wanted to see who showed up and how people reacted when the bloated buffoon walked past them. It was worth it to watch the looks on the faces of John Roberts, Amy Coney Barrett, Elena Kagan and Brett Kavanaugh (the only justices who showed) as the bloated buffoon walked in front of them and briefly acknowledged only Roberts and Kavanaugh with a handshake while he ignored the two women. I watched him welcome "The First Lady" and "The Second Lady" knowing he didn't quite remember either of their names-or felt they weren't worth acknowledging by name. I watched until he spoke his first words about the state of the union saying something like, "We are back and better than ever". Then I turned it off in disgust and switched to watching the Peoples State of the Union address which actually had some very powerful speakers-especially Mohsen Mahdawi, the Palestinian student who Trump tried to deport.

Thanks for the report, Annie.

TOTALLY AGREE🌐 I also watched" We the people"::

The outtakes of tRumfs showed his distain of the court- i thought only if they kneel would he acknowledge them>awefull⚖️thier "FRANKENSTIEN"

Since Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh are both in the Epstein files, they have even more reason to keep the dumpster fire in the WH.

I can’t look at him or listen to his voice. I watched Defiance.org’s show. It was awesome!

Gerry Queenan's avatar

That is what I watched too.

I had the speech on with the sound off. Wanted to know when It was over so I could watch the commentary from MSNOW

Constance Tavares's avatar

Yup, you pretty much nailed it, I’m sure. I didn’t watch either as my mind screams whenever it hears his voice. Same old, same old stuff, so boring.

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

Boring is right, Constance.

I saw highlights...and felt buoyed when I saw Al Green holding his sign. BRAVO, sir! I couldn't watch the debacle for fear of my mental health. This can all be very depressing.

I wrote a piece and asked the question. Can you be a conservative without being cruel...or a criminal? Because in that sorry bunch, thats all I see...or sexual deviants. I dont see the GOP ever recovering from this era. We just have to stay focused on November.

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

I wish Green was my rep.

And the GOP are cowards, plain and simple.

Blackstar's avatar

Copy that Earl. If he’s talking he’s lying. Nothing gained by giving him the attention he thrives on.

My senators- some went(J.Fetterman) others DID NOT-Summer Lee.

Can't work with bullies(Putin) they don't function like regular people. THANKS📑🔍🌐💙

I didn't listen to that porcine bloviating POS. I cannot put my health & psyche through such torture. In fact, every time his ghoulish countenance appears on the tv, I change the channel and mute his grating voice. Nails on a blackboard are more tolerable than his sewage-marinated voice.🤮

Thank you for the positive sentiments, we need this to remind ourselves that the orange swamp troll skunk ape will eventually be gone and perhaps some semblance of normalcy might return, to begin the arduous task of repairing the country, if it's indeed possible. 🙏💙🕊️

John P Grundowski's avatar

Well put- like a time warp, back to "the appretice".Radio or T.V i tune out the monotone/ no emotion/ lies- not into brainwashing¤ never fact checked. Thanks🗽💠🌐💙

I never watch trump, I only watch what he does, and that's enough for me ‼️ 😩 You've got the right idea today, onward and Upward and will reStack ASAP 💯👍💙

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

Thank you, Karen.

Diane Bisson's avatar

I didn’t watch either- he doesn’t deserve one second of my time! Midterms, take over the House (and just maybe the Senate) and remove Trump, Vance, and throw all of the members of his cabinet OUT!

Leanne's avatar

I tried to watch it. He was obnoxious, as per usual, and I fell asleep because he's the most boring speaker on the planet! FDT!!!

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

Seems like trying sleep while nails race across a chalkboard.

Elaine Richards's avatar

So right, Earl. "What a Wonderful World" - Louis Armstrong. As long as there are good people, the light will banish the darkness. Perhaps when Beelzeblubber takes a dirt nap to poison the worms on his golf course, the world will awaken from the evil spell. Hope, courage, accountability and goodness can then return to the land and it's traumatized people. One can dream... and dreams do come true, if we want them enough to make them reality.
