YES! They want us to feel hopeless and give up in advance. I won’t give them that satisfaction, no matter how much they infuriate and exhaust me.

Thanks, as always, for your voice.

There is a righteous fury out there, that is going to lay a good ass-kicking on thousand of Republicans next year.

They've been warned.

From the lives that will be lost from ending USAid

To all the young girls we know you have laid

From your ranting nonstop on your Truth Social app

To attending cabinet meetings and

taking a nap

Lying about everything

you are quite amoral

And we wonder why to Putin you’re so very loyal

Your jealousy of others has gotten out of hand

And racism and grifting has become your own brand

it will be a merry season when we can remove your name

the only place it belongs is in the Hall of Shame!

WE need to get the 90 MILLION people who didn't bother to vote in November 2024 off of their lackadaisical asses and to the polls in November 2026!! I will NEVER understand WHY they just stuck their heads in the sand and didn't bother to vote. They gave us TRump. The MAGAts voted, so, why didn't they??? I'm beyond disgusted and STILL pissed off about it!! What were they thinking?!? #StillPissedOff!!

I've made my discontent known to several people I know who just didn't bother to vote. Ironically, some of those people are suffering the most under the TRump regime. Two of them, government employees for decades, have lost their jobs. Basically, all I could say to them was: Boo hoo. I have no sympathy for them. NONE. If they're that unconcerned about keeping our constitutional republic, I, in turn, have no concern for them. I'm all out of empathy...

Unfortunately, Megan, I believe the truthful answer is that despite them not wanting to vote for Agent Orange, they also chose not to vote for a black woman! Whether racism, misogyny, or simply ignorance, there are still some major hurdles Americans need to overcome!

Sylvi Sterling's avatar

You wanna bet that at least SOME of those who "didn't vote" were knocked off the voter rolls? Perhaps they were eliminated by virtue of their names. Jose Gutierrez, Juan Marinez, Heck, John Smith aren't exclusive names. and a BUNCH of seemingly "duplicate" names were removed without checking. Even if the named persons had different birth dates and different middle initials, they were expunged. And how many people CHECK their eligibility status before Election Day. Do you put it past Republicans, particularly MAGAts to "correct" votor rolls? And those who signed "provisional ballots"... you really think those were counted? Notice that in the MINOR races this year, Democrats WON. That's because the Trump Machine(tm) "didn't bother" to rig the election. They could have. Trump SAID "Elon and I have a plan. We're going to win!" and the Muskrat said "Donald wouldn't have won without me." AND he controlled the satellite links to voting machines.

True a LOT of people didn't vote... but I'll bet you the farm that MANY of those so called no shows were ELIMINATED before or on Election Day.

I foundationally believe that we will win big in the midterms. As a full-fledged planner and ponderer, I wonder if the D party is ready for what we expect in the name of changes and repairs we need for this country. I'm eager to see them take the opportunity to rise to the occasion.

Do you have any thoughts on this, Earl? I'll bring wine for happy hour if you'll share the thoughts that may be wandering through your head. I know it's premature, but I enjoy strategizing as a form of coping and relaxation.

Sorry have no hope the Dems will be any better. They helped elect Trump with open borders, weak on crime particularly illicit drugs and supporting transgenders in women's sports. It will be equality at any price. I see them going back to ginning up the race wars to pit Americans against each other. It is sick to watch the lilywhite Dems cast stones at the Repubs for discrimination. Hah, what a joke. Little progress with no way to pay for empty promises.

While Biden was better dealing with Russia, he also saw Ukraine as weak. He tied Ukraines hands behind them just to keep oil prices steady. So much for standing up to evil. As for healthcare, they are as much in the industry pocket as the Repubs. Their only solution is to provide subsidies (bribes) that drive up the cost of healthcare, not contain or expand it.

Sylvi Sterling's avatar

Excuse me... but have you ever MET a transgendered PERSON? Not "a transgender". But let's take this point by point. 1. Biden did not HAVE "Open" borders. They've never been "open" in the way that Repubs claim. That's nonsense. Plus, you're buying INTO the idea that by virtue of NOT being white US born wealthy or middle class males, they're automagically "criminals". Bull! You've bought into "American exceptionalism" and racism. Strop squirming, I'm not done with you, yet! Weak on crime? REALLY? You're going to complain about "crime" when rioters, cop-bashers (With AMERICAN FLAG POLES! I think I'm gonna vomit!), pedophiles, pedophile protectors and rapists?! Yeah, TELL me how "superior" they are to Biden! You CAN'T and you KNOW IT! Illicit drugs? While the Sackler family PROFITS (not one of them saw a DAY behind bars! AND they kept their company. Who INVENTED Oxycontin, anyway?!) "Transgender" is a descriptor, NOT a noun! And since WHEN did you give a rat sass about "women's sports"?! Name ANY women's team, in any sport! I triple dog DARE you! You can't but you've latched onto a cool "brick" to throw. too bad it's a solid brick of shit. Equality at any price? HELL YEAH! To the privileged, equality is seen as a threat. Suck it up, Buttercup, and try to remember that being born white has nothing, NOTHING to do with superiority. You hate a level playing field because you're afraid you can't keep up without the ten minute head start the shade of your HIDE gives you! Biden SUPPORTED Ukraine from an ILLEGAL land grab by Putin, Trump's master! Healthcare is another matter. The DEMOCRATS came up with the ACA! For that reason and that ALONE Repubs have hated it.

So the democrats won't shit gold and cure you when you touch the hems of their robes? Grow up, Sparky and realize that ANY support, given to ANY Republican is TREASON, because what Trump & Co are doing is PUTIN'S BIDDING! Better yet... move to Russia and IMPROVE the collective IQ of BOTH nations! SELAH!

Wow. What a shitty attitude! Should we just throw up our hands and surrender to the maggots? Are the dems perfect? Not hardly. We elect new dems and hold them to account for; Medicare for all, a sane foreign policy, a workable border policy, trade policy, etc. if you want to sit this one out, go ahead. "Trump isn’t even close to as powerful as he wants you to think he is, and you are far, far more powerful than you think you are." Absolutely true !! Just look at the poll numbers lately; the number of MAGA defections is growing daily. 'pubs know there's going to be a bloodbath come '26 and are leaving DC in droves. We need to rally voters to the polls - definitely. But, more than that Dems need to be working on P29 to close the loopholes, deficits and unclear areas of law so that another authoritarian cannot exploit the historically honest bent of politics and power for their own advantage. There is much work to be done, and we need new Dem leadership and progressive politicians to make it successful. We need to get organizing...

Well said. A good example is the student loan debacle. The current program is just welfare for higher ed at the pain and suffering of young, uneducated kids. Too many are now indebted for a lifetime. Dems want to throw more money with promises of forgiveness here and there. All it has done is raise tuitions. Why are the heavily endowed colleges and universities not made to use their stash to help reduce the cost of tuition?

The so suck at that and it pisses me off that a bunch of intelligent people can't seem to take advantage of the disgusting policies and behaviors of these assholes. PLUS, as a former person who worked in agriculture, the Dems MUST, MUST go out there and get that vote back, right now, bc Trump is destroying the ag community.

They voted for him and not so sure they would not do it again. While I am sympathetic to the plight of the small farmer. It is reported that suicides are 3.5 times higher than the general population. This tells you something is wrong. I have to question why the public needs to support a way of life that frankly pays less than minimum wage? It requires heavy debt and the risks are huge. Lots of the political support for AG is just to support big AG, using the small farmer as cover. Do not hear CA throttling the almond growers for flooding their orchards while telling the cities to conserve.

America needs to come to terms with agriculture as a business model and not as a way of life. Instead, it is treated as a nostalgic Norman Rockwell return to the good old days. Farming costs too much for what the small farmer gets out of it. Yet politicians support it so John Deere, IH/Case and the big boys can do okay on Wall Street. The days of keeping them on the farm to prevent them from coming to the city is over.

OMG 😳 You just woke me up on this snowy Saturday after Christmas! I was in the American cemetery in Brussels, 14-months ago, where those who perished in the Battle of the Bulge are now buried in eternal peace. It was a gloomy, damp rainy day and I cried. I cried for our country because I was so afraid of what actually happened. This administration is a terrible disaster and we have not gotten to the one- year mark yet. Your missive is powerful. It gives me hope.

The county legislature here was controlled by Republicans for fifty years before this passed election. No longer.

The town board here has been monopolized by Republicans for the 35 years since I have lived here. Only one Democrat has had a seat on that board. After November, there are three Democrats on the town board.

This is happening here and everywhere across America 🇺🇸

People, citizens, Democrats, Independents, even Republicans are tired of being lied to and manipulated Don and his merry band of cronies. Thanks for reminding me that there truly is a light at the end of the tunnel.

You are the best, D. Earl! 💪👍

He served two years in the European theater and was one of witnesses to conditions in a concentration camp. He NEVER spoke of it but my aunt did on rare occasions when Herb suffered from severe PTSD(shell shock) until his death in 2008.
