So by now you probably heard that yesterday Trump said "I don't think about Americans' financial situation." If that's not in every Democrat's campaign ad, I give up.

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

These ads write themselves, Ann.

But, really, what kind of a moron would vote for a person like that?

kdsherpa's avatar

Morons who get their “news” from Breitbart. (sp?)

A bigoted misogynist grifter.

Obviously, quite a few gullible and stupid people out there.

Ruby Slipper's avatar

Unfortunately, all too many people who believe Democrats are a fate worse than death.

Alana Studebaker's avatar

Amen!! If the Republicans continue their reign of terror, it’s ALL ON US if we don’t show up at the ballot box! NO EXCUSES!!!

MAGA = Make America Go Away

Make those A holes go away

Elaine Richards's avatar

I was initially going to write Make @$$holes Go Away. Great minds think alike!

US Blues's avatar

That was what everyone said in ‘24.

David Skoglund's avatar

They can gerrymander all they want but it won’t succeed because a voter revolt is coming!

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

If only Americans would FINALLY understand the power they have to not only change things, but to RUN them.

David Skoglund's avatar

The economy is going to get worse and come election time there will be no patience left with the pig’s mismanagement of every aspect of it and the lack of trust will be entrenched and not recoverable. The stench of Trump will trickle down the ballot and that golden shower will drown many of his little piglet cowards in Congressional elections.

John McDonald's avatar

There is nothing I would like to see more than the Democrats destroy the GOP in the newly gerrymandered districts. I would be wearing a corprophagious smile for at least a week.

BUT even if I get my wish then I have to start hoping the Democrats will do something with their win. With Schumer and Jeffries in charge I have my doubts.

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

There is a decided, and warranted, distrust in Big D Dems right now, John, and should be.

This is where I'm at as well. It's all well and good if Ds get elected, but there is a LOT of stuff that needs working on. The biggest thing I think we need is accountability, and I don't care how much shrieking is emitted by the RWNJ. I'm not the least bit interested in hearing how we need to move forward as if no harm no foul. Heads need to roll - both figuratively and literally - because I believe there have been crimes committed that should invoke the death penalty, and that is not something I typically support.

Environmentally friendly electric chairs could be employed so as to not profit the military industrial complex. Burning them at the stake would require lighter fluid which would benefit big oil. Go green and (h)eat the rich!

Those two and a few others have to stand aside - they’re useless.

We need Dems running in EVERY race.

I live in a county which bleeds red...Privately many business owners are against trump...BUT...They don't speak out for fear of a maga backlash...which is real... So..I support those brave businesses and people who do not accept trump/maga and I do not support any business which is maga involved...Tonight I am going to one of the good guy businesses. They are opening up after hours for a fundraiser for a super judge who we need to stay on the bench.... Not just vote....Support good candidates...

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

Amen. And cheers.

Elaine Richards's avatar

Good for you. Money makes the world go around or down. You are using your money morally. Nice going. 🙂

It’s unfathomable how Republicans in Congress can sleep at night. They are a far cry from those who served under Nixon and did the right thing. I follow Adam Kinzinger who had the courage and integrity to defy Trump and still does so daily. Where are the rest of them? They are so much worse than the ordinary MAGA fool because they know better. I am a PC (precinct committee person) and work in my local neighborhood visiting Democrats and left leaning Independents to get out the vote and listen to their stories. I am 80 years old with scoliosis and I still go door to door. I urge others to do the same. Contact your local Democratic Party or club. We all need to get involved.

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

You are a patriot is what you are, Carol.

Elaine Richards's avatar

Good for you, Carol. Adam Kinzinger said he acted the way he did because he wanted his young son to know that he did when it counted and that any one can if they choose to act morally. He is the one republican who may have made a good president.

Carol Christ's avatar

I have heard the Dem ticket could have Kelly for president and Kinzinger for VP. He is no longer a Republican. He voted for Trump’s second impeachment and regretted not voting yes on the first one. Kinzinger endorsed President Joe Biden for re-election before shifting his support to Biden's running mate and Vice President Kamala Harris following Biden's withdrawal from the election. I follow him on SUBSTACK.

Elaine Richards's avatar

Great news about Kinzinger. That makes a pleasant change. Thank you for letting me know. Maybe with all of tRump's vile darkness, people will see the light and help make things change for the better.

So true.

Under Trump the world is chaos and calamity.

The highest Court in our country is ruthlessly supporting lies and corruption.

The MAGATs support their leader without any regard to his atrocities and leech onto his lies.

The destruction aimed at our Earth is a fact and supported by the people assigned to protect it.

We cannot recover from it as things are .

We must organize to fight these perilous forces.

Take our country and our lives back from these well paid lunatics.

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

We can -- and we must, Patricia.

On top of the Epstein Class effing us over...we are now $39 trillion in debt and fast approaching $40 trillion. We don't even pretend to take care of We the People anymore, Earl.

VOTE the enablers out!! Blue no matter who!!

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

It's the only way out of this mess, Sharon.

Ilene Winn-Lederer's avatar

Good words, D. Earl correct as usual. For my part, I am completely fed up with this stupid idea of waiting for the November elections to fix everything. They will.NOT. In our heart of hearts, we know that the Republicans will do everything they can to sabotage this cornerstone of our democracy. We must take action now to round up, arrest, and prosecute all of these unrepentant criminals and lock them away before they can completely destroy our democracy and by extension, the world. I truly don’t care how this is accomplished, legally, or otherwise, but it must be done. Otherwise everything we have worked for for two centuries will have been for naught. It’s time to remind these shameless monsters and billionaires that we are their boss, we pay them and they are obliged to work for US. A revolution need not be bloody, it just has to be united and determined to do what’s right for all of us.

Russ's avatar

No, put them on a diet, using their money to do some immediate and identifiable good. No setting up another tax deductible charitable money laundering mill.

All those billions being made are fueling inflation. Bring back AMTs alternative minimum taxes to stop the loopholes. Any corporation reporting no profit and no taxes due are laughing at the rest of us.

They do it all legal by rewarding CEOs and expensing lots of stuff previously had to be depreciated. Congress changed that so big purchases get written off immediately and reduces their taxes.

Ilene Winn-Lederer's avatar

Yuck, just the thought makes me want to lose my lunch.

Megan Ross's avatar

We're living in a dystopian nightmare. Every single day, TRump and his Clown Car Cabinet make everything worse for the vast majority of We the People. It is very hard to stay positive watching our country circling the drain. But, I put my ballot in the mail today in California, voting for those who I think will serve us, not the billionaires. Onward...

Here’s another crap Cabinet member.

We have a national housing crisis.

People all over America are sleeping in doorways and in parking lots, in abandoned buildings and back seats of burned-out cars. In big cities and small towns.

Quick: NAME DONALD TRUMP’s SECRETARY OF HOUSING!

Hint: he played for the NFL for a few years. And presumably has the same credentials as his Republican Era predecessor, the pediatric surgeon who lived in a house and boasted of personal friendship with Our Savior.

Rakca's avatar

And did you find the list of his brilliant innovations, new HUD programs encourage affordable housing options, re-hab assistance for aging properties, projects to shelter our veterans……?

We all deplore homelessness but this dude is a dud.

For a variety of reasons, I had not gone grocery shopping for two or three months. When I went last week, I was literally stunned. Prices on many things had seemingly doubled. I’m not sure if that’s actually correct, but the prices were way above what they’ve been a few months earlier.Everyone talks about the price of gas for their cars, but what strikes me more is the increase in grocery prices due to the gas crisis. What a nightmare that evil man has created for an entire country – or should I say world?

D. Earl Stephens ✍️'s avatar

It is really incredible how expensive things are right now.

Susan Rose's avatar

The Ukraine and Russia are the bread baskets of the world. Wheat production is way down as POOtin wages his illegal excursion. Neither can produce as they did before while they soak the land with young blood and fill the skies with smoke from refineries burning, just as they are in the Middle East.

Additionally, Trumpty Dumpty's Iran excursion has the straight of Hormus blocked, preventing 30% of the world's fertilizer and the flow of 20% of the world's oil and gas which trucks use to deliver produce to grocery stores.

All of this has raised the prices on food and it's going to get worse and its effects will last 7 times longer than the duration of the Hormus straight blockage according to experts.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, which I got from Hawkspodcasts on YouTube. It's a great supplementary source to Earl's for news you can also trust. One rotten apple, in the form of tRUMP, can ruin the whole bunch, and in this case, the entire crop and growing season. It's going to take time to improve things. Hopefully it won't be too long. 🙂🌊
