I married Southeast Alabama in 1982. I’m from the Washington, D.C. suburbs. My folks immigrated from New York City after the war was over for good government jobs. So I’ve actually now lived down here longer than up north. My husband is an old Dixiecrat but he’s an elderly liberal Democrat. I am completely surrounded by conservatives. Not all MAGAs tho. Everyone knows I’m a liberal blue democrat and I get along to get along. Southeast Alabama is my home. I went to the No Kings rally in tiny Dothan. It was very uplifting to be among like minded people. It was a beautiful mixture of all sorts and colors. I’m going to work VERY hard for gubernatorial candidate Doug Jones. It will be very interesting. Running against the stupidest person in the government. 💙🤞🏽🇺🇸
Alabama and other southern "good ole'boy" states have been the gold standard of hypocrisy. Bible thumping God fearing yet seldom practice it, if you ain't white. I know all this because my dad was that way. His car broke down and no one stops except a black man to help. I challenged him on that and his answer was "there are a few good ones".

I do not have anyone in my daily life that is MAGA, but I have a friend in Missouri...that I worked with 30+ years ago...we exchange Christmas cards every year to catch up...no other contact. A year ago, he ended his Christmas card with..."the best part of 2025 is that Trump will be president again". UGH. I ended my card to him this year with..."I find it hard to fathom that anyone with 2 gay daughters can love Trump. Don the Con has made the US way worse!" I got his card in response..."Now that Biden is out and Trump is back in, my 401K is on the rise again." WTF. All I can say is...White Privilege has rotted his brain! Thanks for listening.
We won in Putnam Valley, NY too, by electing a Dem supervisor and Town Board member and we will now have a Dem majority on the Board for the first time in years.

Oh, there will be attempts and successes from the orange fascist's regime, but the courts have hit their stride, entities have slowed in bending the knee, the spider at the center of the web is failing - mentally, physically and emotionally. The fascist's remora is as unpopular as their craven god - whose poll numbers are circling the drain.
'26 will be a Dem blowout - but we still need to work our asses off tho get as many to the polls as possible. We need to work even harder to get activist progressive candidates on the ballots across all 50. We must agitate for new leadership, author our own P28 and get our healthcare, economic and government repair plans before the voters - non stop. New year, new attitude !
Your work strengthens my resolve and drives me to dig deeper into what can be done to bring about victory in '26 and '28. There are many great proposals floating around that should become the backbone of our P28 for campaign and election, P29 to rebuild and fireproof our democracy.
