Raleigh-Durham, Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Asheville, Boone, Greenville, and Wilmington are bright(er) blue areas but once you get out into the country it’s massively red. And the racist Democrats turned Dixiecrats turned Republicans have a chokehold on this state.
I hope you’re heading to a blue dot, though. I’m thankful I’m in one.

A little history- about 13 years ago, the mastermind, Art Pope et al decided to use NC as their neocon model to infiltrate dept of education, then proceeded through chicanery to turn the NC senate red. They succeeded and used every trick in the book. ☹️ They are truly sickening.
However, we have a Democratic Party leader who is a 28 year old
I lived in NC. Wonderful place and people. If you need a translator, let me know. Enjoy the four seasons and occasional hurricane, the phenomenal local BBQ (pork, vinegar-based sauce), honest-to-goodness real bluegrass music (the best music in the world). And yeah, this southern boy lived in one house in Wisconsin for 8 years, the longest I've ever lived in one place in my life. When we moved from Wisconsin to Missouri, it became our 19th home/apartment in 38 years of marriage, one every two years on average even with the 8 in Wisconsin and 5 in Tokyo.
Thank you for sharing this recap of the places you've lived on the way to your new home. Your life certainly has been rich with new ventures. Explains a lot about how your passion, knowledge and commitment developed. I can always 'feel' your message, but reading this piece was particularly touching. Your life has been rich to this point, and I've no doubt you will continue to thrive no matter where life finds you.
