As a Certified Nursing Assistant, Physician's Assistant and home healthcare professional, specializing in geriatrics, I have seen dealt with and taken care of MANY individuals experiencing various levels of what then was called Senility, and is now known as Dementia. I will say that many of the symptoms are nearly identical. Saying the same phrase or phrases over and over. The difference is that DJT does seem "more on the ball" than most or all of my patients did. Some phrases were unrelated to anything going on. "What can I do? What can I do?" or "We're going to Chica-gee! We're going to Chica-gee!" but his iterations are less compulsive, more interspersed with signs that he knows what he's saying. "A year ago, this country was dead. Today we're the hottest nation in the world."
None of my patients exhibited narcissism, whereas DJT just OOZES it from his every pore!
The difference is not in his mentation. It is that he has NO FILTER, and is ragingly angry, furious and in utter loathing of his own OLD AGE! He feels trapped, cornered, by his ongoing weaknesses and progressive deterioration, and is lashing out with that fury at anything and everything around him! My mother had dementia. It started out slow and went on for years until one day she was standing in front of her assisted living home with a vacant expression on her face. When the man at the front desk came out and asked if she was okay, she asked, where am I? She became confused about everything, couldn’t remember five minutes ago, but she always remained who she was at her core : a kind and gentle person. I’m sure Trump does have dementia, but that does not excuse what he actually is. His core is rotten. He may have been born an innocent child, but he was molded into the person he is. I just have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that so many people are attracted to him, his violence, hate, and vitriol.

Earle, again so well stated. However, is it HATE or is it TREASON? Both are deadly and dangerous but one is a crime. The everlasting pandering to Putin seems to go beyond hate alone. It seems to me Trump acts more like an operative. So many excuses for this and that. Does Putin have something really big on him? So many lines drawn for Putin and then nothing. Many threats but no follow thru. The ultimate being the knowing allowance of Putin to assist the Iranians in targeting our soldiers. Cuban embargo but not for Russian oil. And it gets repeated over and over. Can we not think the unthinkable? I have asked myself to be open and think the unthinkable and ask WHY? WHY? WHY?
It sucks that tRump is being diagnosed as having a condition me and others have been diagnosed with and are working through. Until we see diagnoses from certified doctors / radiologist and other clinicians I agree that saying the orange asshat has any form of dementia and / or Alzheimers is truly a distraction from it's actions. We need to quit giving tRump cover.
