Democrats are the Party of the Working Class
And our broken media that can't report on even this correctly are harming all Americans ...
Today’s corporate, click-bait media are catastrophically failing America because they have lost the ability to differentiate fact from fiction, and accurately report on the truly important issues facing this nation.
Worse, they have willingly availed themselves to this notion that both sides of every issue should carry equal weight, and have gotten into the corrosive habit of mindlessly repeating political talking points as if they were handed down by God as the absolute truth, and somehow belong in every story they write.
With few exceptions, the media has lost the ability to identify big, important news, and instead are trying to curry favor and explain away an abhorrent, racist minority faction of this nation, that is trying to slam the gears of progress into reverse, and drag us by our hair back to a dark and evil time when nobody but them had any rights.
I mean, how long must we continue to hear that the hundreds of millions of guns in this country aren’t the problem, when anybody with a damn brain in their head understands that there is little-to-no gun violence in the countries that have little-to-no guns?
WHEN are we going to stop entertaining this sick, demented notion that more guns make us safer?
How long must we pretend that climate change and global warming are not catastrophic issues that are killing people by the thousands and threatening the lives of hundreds of millions of others?
Sea levels and water temperatures are rising at a breathtaking pace. These are facts. Only the oil companies that grease the palms of the oil slicks in the Republican Party would disagree.
If the media is intent on reporting both sides of this enormous issue, then they should accurately deliver the news this way: One side is right, the other side is clearly and dangerously wrong.
Then there’s the most important story in our nation’s 248-year history: Our Democracy is provably under steady attack by a lawless political party led by a low-grade, anti-American slime ball WHO HAS ALREADY VIOLENTLY ATTACKED US ONCE.
This disintegrating party, which not so long ago was headed by the very decent John McCain, has obediently rolled over and played dead, so that a women-abusing, racist sociopath and convicted felon can walk all over them by playing to the disgusting collection of mostly miserable white people in this country who are too stubborn and lazy to join the rest of us in the 21st Century.
This collection of lawless, Republican miscreants are literally telling us they will attack us again if they don’t get the results they want in the next election, but sure, let’s pretend there are bigger stories out there than the greatest national-security threat in history — maybe just convene 11 white people in a Pennsylvania diner and get their thoughts on the whole thing and then call it good.
The Republicans’ attack on our Democracy should be leading every newspaper and newscast every day. Again, there are in fact two sides to this story: The people who want to defend America and our rights, the Democrats, and the people that will do everything they possibly can to incinerate them, the Republicans.
You might have heard me relentlessly banging away on all of the above before, and I apologize for any duplications, so here’s something new that’s eating my lunch this afternoon: This bizarre notion that Republicans have become the party of the working class.
Have you heard this one?
Of course you have. You can’t miss it. I bet I’ve read this reported as fact 426 times the past four years. I have read scores of columns in which haughty writers castigate Democrats for abandoning the working class.
First, NO THEY HAVEN’T, and second: How in the hell did this cloud of noxious smoke get such a head of steam?
That Democrats have abandoned the working class might be the greatest head fake on our pathetic, gullible media that I have ever seen. They have taken a right-wing talking point, completely swallowed it whole without even giving it a sniff, and then regurgitated it as fact, while belching all over themselves.
The notion that the Republican Party stands for the working class is next-level bullshit, and easily swatted away by simply looking at the facts.
-Starting with Ronald Reagan, the Republican Party has made it a point of pride to loathe unionization and stand against unions every chance they get. Is there any entity anywhere that stands for workers rights more than unions?
-The Republicans have never seen a bill to raise minimum wage — or wages in general — that they didn't eagerly vote against.
-The Republicans hate regulations of any kind on big businesses and banks, both of whom regularly screw the working class in more creative and dastardly ways than just about anything I can think of.
-The Republicans — particularly in Red States — regularly turn down federal monies aimed at job programs, and education programs that teach and improve skills. Only 13 House Republicans voted for the landmark, $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that is producing thousands and thousands of good-paying jobs in every single state. That has not stopped many Republicans who voted against it, for taking credit for it now. That’s another hallmark of these reprehensible people that doesn't get called out enough.
-The Republicans hate the thought that every American deserves the basic right to healthcare. How in God’s name is a working family without any medial insurance supposed to make it in this country if they are buried in obscene medical bills with no relief?
-The Republicans want everybody to reproduce, but would rather not give families a much-needed hand up in dealing with the skyrocketing costs of childcare. The American Rescue Plan’s Child Tax Credit that Democrats put in place cut childhood poverty in half in this country, and the Republicans torched it just as soon as they got power in 2023. How in the hell is that kind of venom directed at our children helping the working class?
-The Republicans passed exactly one piece of notable legislation during their demented, orange king’s four-year tenure: They lowered taxes on the richest Americans. And that benefits working-class Americans HOW?
Look, I could go on and on here, but let’s just end this nonsense that Democrats have abandoned the working class. It’s a false and dangerous GOP narrative that our failing national media are mindlessly repeating in an endless loop.
The real irony here of course is that by spreading these lies, they are also failing Republican, working-class voters, who in their pathetic zeal to keep America holy and white, are screwing themselves but good, and confusing it with the best sex they’ll ever get.
No wonder they’re so miserable.

It is stunning to come to the realization in 2024 that most U.S media is now completely useless.
I am a Canadian who is very worried about your next election. Unfortunately big issues in the US have effects around the world good or bad. If US democracy goes down, I think we will see a domino effect around the world. Then we are all going to suffer. For the love of humanity please vote Blue.
